Join the Volunteer Crew
If you are a fan of local history, there are a variety of ways in which you can contribute your talents to support the Museum and our community. Let us know your interests, and we’ll be in touch when needs arise to see if you’re available.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Docent: Welcome visitors, introduce exhibits, and process Gift Shop sales. Involves only two hours each week from mid-June to early October. While helpful, no prior knowledge of Woods Hole history is required. Training is provided the first Saturday morning in June.
Events and Programs: Plan, coordinate or assist with one or more events, such as our annual Oyster Talk and Tasting in summer, or our Museum Conversations held year-round.
Publicity: Lend your talents to promoting the museum’s programs, products and services through social media, marketing communications or graphic design.
Exhibits: Assist with organizing and hanging new exhibits for the summer season.
Grounds & Maintenance: Help with caring for our gardens or grounds. Or lend muscle power when setup/take down assistance is needed.
Administration: Work with our staff on mailings, cataloging archives donations, organizing Gift Shop inventory, and more.
Thank you for your interest!
