Robin Ackroyd

Robin Woodroofe Ackroyd (1937, Detroit) first came to WH in June of 1969 - with a husband, 3 young children, a Siamese cat and litter of 5 kittens. All stayed in the Clowes' house on Vineyard Sound - within sight and sound of Nobska Point Light House - for 3 wonderful weeks. Before the year was out, we found our own house on Buzzards Bay - with easy access to Science School and Stony Beach - for more memorable summers....

In 1986 I returned to WH as a year round resident - alone - the better to appreciate this small, unique piece of land, its inhabitants, and the sea around us all. I love this place, especially in the off-seasons of fall, winter, and spring - with family, friends - even alone....
