Born: Woburn, MA; 08-02-31

I came to Woods Hole in June of 1952, inspired by my biology professor, Elsa K. Sichel, who had spent many summers at the MBL. Here I met many scientists, including Albert Szent-Gyorgyi on many occasions. Before the summer was over he offered me a two year fellowship at his lab in the MBL. The work was concerned with understanding life at the sub-molecular, or electron level. This association continued until his death in 1986. I continued with others at the MBL until my retirement at the end of 2002.

I lived on Millfield St. for awhile (including during the hurricane of 1954) before moving to Nobska Road. Most summers I used a cottage on Fay Rd. In 2007 I moved to Falmouth at my current address.

During these years I have enjoyed the environment that is Woods Hole, and its community of interesting people. I became interested in the local history with its wealth of information about those who lived and worked here before we did.
