Phyllis Goldstein

She was born 1933 in the Bronx, NY.

She came to Woods Hole in 1962 because her husband, Sam Switzer, was taking the Physiology course at MBL.

Her profession was performing arts teacher. She also played the flute and was a very good athlete. She was known throughout the village as the Folksinging Lady because of her 45 plus years singing at the MBL Club on Tuesday Nights in the summer.

Her connection was really as an organizer and community participant. She organized many theatrical productions throughout the years, was one of the people who started the Cantata with Liz Davis, She was a fixture on the MBL Beach Tennis Courts during the 60's, 70's and 80's when tennis was huge in Woods Hole and of course Folksinging. Phyllis was a presence.

She lived for just under 50 years at 10 Gardiner Rd in Woods Hole.
