Margery Brearley WardBorn: Princeton, NJ - September 23, 1920 Margery came to the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole as a grad student in zoology in 1942. Her academic degrees are from Swarthmore (class of 1941) and Mount Holyoke, where she received her MS in 1943. She worked in the lab of Dr. Elmer Butler at Princeton University and also taught high school biology in New Jersey and at the Children's School of Science in Woods Hole. Interests: Nature, Music, Gardening She bought a home in Woods Hole in 1957 with her husband, Herman M. Ward and has come every summer thereafter. She raised four children, Gretchen Ward Warren, Bonnie Ward Simon, David B. Ward and Michael W. Ward, three of whom are now Woods Hole/Falmouth residents. |
