Joan Kanwisher

I was born in 1924 in Rochester, New York. I came to Woods Hole in 1952, when my husband, John, and I chose to accept a job for him at WHOI. My interests include restoring old houses in Woods Hole, sketching Woods Hole buildings and scenes, sailing, now rowing, in summer, and walking with Motley, our dog, in winter. I was active with the conservation commission, and spearheaded the Shining Sea Bike Path project. My connections to Woods Hole include being a member of a book club with seven other Woods Hole women, being a student in Julie Child's Drawing Class, and a fervent library patron.
