Tea Rooms

Tea rooms were very popular with ladies in the early years of the 1900s. On Water Street, where the present Fishmonger restaurant (now the Water Street Kitchen) is located, there was a tea room called the Sea Robin. Tea rooms in private homes were popular too – Mrs. Robinson ran one on lower Quissett Avenue and Klara Fish and her sisters-in-law Florence and Josephine Fish ran the Little Harbor Tea Room in an old family house facing Little Harbor.
