Sally Cross

Sally and her husband, Norman Cross, wanted to "see the sunset over the water". They lived in Lunenburg Massachusetts. They bought a lot in the Racing Beach section of Falmouth in 1973, which was on a hill facing Buzzards Bay, and in 1974 they moved into the house to live year-round. The house has floor-to-ceiling windows on the side which faces the Bay.

When they moved in, all four parents were alive and the Crosses planned on having them come to live with them when they could no longer live on their own. The house was designed with the lower level constructed for the parents. But they all remained in their own homes and none of them came to stay.

Sally played tennis and golf and spent lots of time with visiting grandchildren. She was involved in many activities which benefitted local non-profits. She supported Highfield Hall and Salt Pond Areas Bird Sanctuaries by purchasing wetland lots in Racing Beach and donating them to Salt Pond.

Sally's artistic talents have been displayed in her creative assemblages of sea glass, driftwood and other beach-found objects.
