Ann Cleary

I grew up in the Chicago North Shore suburbs, Glencoe to be exact. I first came to Woods Hole in the summer of 1950 to take the MBL course in Marine Botany. That left me thinking I would be a biologist and it was my college major but somehow it never happened. Jim and I were married in 1952 and had three children and ten years in Dallas. Then it was time to choose another location and we thought Woods Hole would do nicely. We were right, it has been fine for the last 47 years.

Although neither a biologist nor a full time worker, I have been happy with the League of Women Voters, Falmouth Family Planning and the Service Center. I worked part time in Mary Mavor's shop, From Far Corners, and did the books and billing for the business, Falmouth Products, that Jim started and our son, Charles, now runs.
